The results are in, and it’s officially a three-peat for Acumium! With nerf guns at our desks, daily ping pong games, beer in the fridge, regular staff meals and rotating employee deejays on the house sound system, it’s safe to say that we know how to work hard and play hard. While those perks make our office fun, it’s our values and our unique culture that really make Acumium a great place to work, and we suspect that’s what really helped us retain our place as one of Madison Magazine’s Best Places to Work for the third consecutive year.
At Acumium, our team is encouraged to continuously challenge ourselves and find new ways of meeting those challenges head on. We pride ourselves on producing great work and constantly elevating ourselves to the next level. We are truly invested in our work and care deeply about our clients’ success. This aspect of our culture is no accident, and comes directly from the strong leadership at Acumium. Every Tuesday at our all-company meeting, our Founder and CEO, Dan Costello, recognizes our accomplishments, shares his vision, and tells us his door is always open. It’s not just lip service, and it’s not just Dan. If you have an issue or an idea to improve how Acumium operates, management listens. If you’re willing to bring sweat equity to the table toward making something happen, you’ll rarely hear a flat “no” on anything.
Acumium’s intrapreneurial nature is great for driving growth and innovation from within, but there’s a lot more to our progressive culture that makes this a great place to work. With a casual dress code, flexible working arrangements, visits from canine friends in the office, and even a piloted “Babies at Work” project earlier this summer, our work/life balance is a top priority. We want our team to love Mondays.
The Best Place to Work award process begins with an open call to businesses in the area for nominations. All employees within the nominated businesses are then sent a 60-question web-based survey from Quantum Workplace that measures six key engagement categories:
- Communication and Resources
- Individual Needs
- Manager Effectiveness
- Personal Engagement
- Team Dynamics
- Trust in Leadership
The data is collected, compiled and analyzed for the highest levels of employee engagement, and the 25 top-scoring businesses are awarded as Best Places To Work. What makes this award especially meaningful is that it’s not based on some outsider opinion. It’s our team confirming, from the inside, that this is a truly great place to work.
We are honored to have been recognized as a Madison Magazine Best Place to Work for 2014, 2015 and 2016. We are happy for the validation that our company culture, core values, excellent team, and numerous benefits have created an environment where our employees are inspired to do their best work, day after day, year after year, and award after award, and hopefully even love Mondays.
